Chasen takes its inspiration from an ancient oriental instrument, the traditional bamboo whip used during the tea ceremony, whose delicate filaments continue to change shape.  In this version the light emission can be adjusted by means of a mechanical movement that opens the louvers, thereby varying the shape of the luminaire.
